The Duke of York Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award (known as iDEA) is the world’s only completely free mass market edtech platform. It’s an open access learning programme that helps people of all ages develop digital, enterprise and employability skills. The overarching goal of iDEA is to support the development and accreditation of digital skills, thereby allowing individuals more opportunities to become economically active in the digital economy.
iDEA is accessible on any device all around the world and supports both formal and informal learning. There are no barriers to access – you can earn iDEA digital badges (our online modules) anytime, anywhere you can get online. iDEA is the digital, enterprise and employability equivalent of The Duke of Edinburgh Award. The Bronze Award is targeted at beginner level, with the Silver Award aimed at intermediate level. The team are currently developing the Gold Award. All iDEA badges are endorsed by industry.
Because the programme is for everyone, young people and adults alike, it is delivering large-scale impact. So far, since launching the Bronze Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award in 2017, the programme has had learners complete nearly 2 million badges.
