Digital transformation consultancy Remarkable has published its Digital Maturity Report: Top 30 UK Asset Management Firms 2026, benchmarking thirty of the UK’s leading asset managers on ten commercially relevant digital metrics. Its central finding: firm after firm has spent on digital, but very few have built anything that compounds.
The report scored each firm on content breadth, digital authority, publishing cadence, LinkedIn presence, technology stack, audience segmentation, engineering quality, strategic commitment, accessibility and AI search visibility. Scores are based on observable, verifiable evidence, including live website audits, published content analysis, engineering and security signals, and results from AI search tools.
Across all ten metrics, the same pattern emerged: activity without a growth system.
1. Investment isn’t compounding
A 21 percentage-point gap separates the strongest and weakest performers. Most firms have invested in platforms, content and social channels, but those investments tend to run in parallel rather than reinforcing each other. The leaders are the firms whose technology, content and distribution work together, so each new piece of activity builds on the last.
2. AI search is concentrating attention
AI search tools are rapidly becoming a starting point for investor research. The report found that a single $2.26tn manager appears in 33% of relevant AI search prompts. As AI-generated answers shape which firms investors consider, the rest of the sector risks becoming invisible at the moment of discovery.
3. Content output isn’t the same as growth
Asset managers publish a great deal of insight, commentary and fund content. But without audience segmentation, consistent distribution and a clear strategic commitment, that output rarely builds lasting authority. The firms that stand out connect content, channels and technology so that each piece of activity strengthens the next.
Paul, Co-owner of Remarkable, said: “Asset managers aren’t short of digital activity. They publish constantly, they’re on LinkedIn and they’ve invested in their platforms. What’s missing is the system that ties it together and makes each investment compound. With AI search already concentrating attention on a handful of firms, the cost of standing still is rising. The opportunity is to turn activity into a growth engine.”
