Retail-Focused Agency Wins Prestigious International Google Award Doing It Their Way

Fast growing UK-based digital marketing agency Genie Goals has triumphed to claim a prestigious Google Premier Partners Award.
At the Dublin ceremony, hosting just the top 3 per cent of agencies from Europe, The Middle East and Africa (EMEA), it won the Google Shopping Innovation Award as well as being in the top three in two more of the six categories; making it the most highly recognised agency on the night.
It’s a true David & Goliath story: Genie Goals is only five years old with a single office in Cambridge which is home to around 50 staff; where many of the agencies it competed against have decades of experience, thousands of employees and scores of offices around the world.
Genie credits its victory to doing things its own way. It has invested heavily in its own technology and world-class training for its team, while choosing to work exclusively with retail clients. This unique approach has been validated as industry-leading by Google, the world’s leading digital marketing platform – despite having been met with derision and scepticism from the industry just a few years ago.
Genie Goals Agency Director Luca Senatore said: “I will never forget some of the looks we got when speaking at conferences about our vision; looks of admiration for our courage, but also sympathy because they truly thought we’d not be around in 12 months. They didn’t believe our mission was achievable, but we did!”
The winning case study rewarded a 608 per cent Google Shopping sales growth figure over six months, as well as the innovative way this result was achieved. The award adds to Genie’s growing list of achievements that includes being rated 9.3/10 overall in a survey of all it’s clients, being recognised by one of the best UK agencies by Europe’s largest marketing website The Drum, and numerous best employer nominations in 2017.
Where Genie Goals had been the underdog, it has has become a leading example of what is possible in the digital marketing space for genuine innovators. With clients including Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfeld and Mamas & Papas, it has shown a small yet focused agency can not only manage but hugely grow accounts for international brands; not just in the UK, but across the world.

Genie will now head to New York at the end of the September to represent EMEA at the Global Google Premier Partner Awards.
