The countdown to Christmas has officially begun and many of us will be extra busy right now trying to finish off work before the festive break. But what has been happening elsewhere in the digital world?
AdWords Improves Customer Match
On December 1st, Google AdWords announced in its blog that it would be rolling out an easier way to manage customer lists. It is hoped that this will give advertisers more flexibility during the busy festive period.
These new changes mean that rather than replacing an entire list you can now add or remove specific email addresses.
Customer Experience (CX) Statistics from Google analytics
In Google’s Analytics blog, the search giant recently reported on a survey by Harvard Business Review which found that:
‘Although half of surveyed business leaders say CX is a top-two differentiator for their business, just half of them said they perform well in it.’
So, why is this? Well, businesses have access to data, but struggle when it comes to analysing and implementing data-influenced changes. The same study found that less than a quarter of businesses surveyed integrate customer data across channels to provide a single view. Getting organised could improve CX.
Donald Trump Could Be Banned from Twitter… Maybe
It’s the Democrats’ total weakness & incompetence that gave rise to ISIS — not a tape of Donald Trump that was an admitted Hillary lie!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 21, 2015
Twitter has said that any user who breaks the social network’s rules could have their account shut down and this includes the President-elect.
It was reported in the Independent that a Twitter spokesperson had said:
“The Twitter Rules prohibit violent threats, harassment, hateful conduct, and multiple account abuse, and we will take action on accounts violating those policies,” and this was to apply to all accounts with no exceptions.
So, does this mean Trump will mind his words in future? We doubt it. On the other hand, Facebook has suggested it will be more lenient with the politician.
Snapchat to Release its First Interactive 3D Promotional Lens
To mark the upcoming release of the film Underworld: Blood Wars, Snapchat has teamed up with film studios Screen Gems to promote an interactive 3D promotional lens.
So, what will it do? Well, the lens will firstly transform your image into a vampire, then it will immerse you in a 360° environment inspired by the film itself. This gothic makeover will be controlled by turning your smartphone, plus extra ‘snap to unlock’ features will be able to give sneak peaks.
